Version 0.10: Cheat sheets, new mechanics, and more

Hey folks,

This a larger update. Here's what's changed:

  • Added a cheat sheet which has a rundown on dice results, stats, skills, encounters, magic, and bikes. This is also available as a separate handout.
  • Added a really cool looking flowchart that shows how Encounters work. Separate handout. Created by Adam Silverstein and toomanyfeelings5. Many thanks to the both of you!
  • Added a section  with new mechanics for developing the identity of the chapter itself as well as the clubhouse.
  • Added more details to the Hacks & Supplements with specifics about how create new content for Mx3.
  • Added two example plays: Session 0 and Play Session. These example plays cover safety, character creation, a social encounter, and a combat encounter.
  • Added a few more "thank yous" and whatnot.
  • Edited the section on magic to clarify how to use it in an Encounter versus narrative.
  • Edited The Progeny's Specialty to better reflect the intention of their power which is an innate connection to the world that allows a more intimate access to magic than other Member Types.
  • Edited the Leviathan's numbers to make it a formidable opponent while also allowing it to actually be killed. There are a few Encounter enemies in the generator table that are nearly impossible to destroy and some of that is just me being  cheeky and some of that is realistic to the real-world.  I wanted the Leviathan to be like a first Big Boss-type monster.
  • Edited the wording of the Infernal Trike for minor consistency.
  • Edited a reference in one of the appendices to the old Twitter handle.
  • Removed the appendix about Itchfunding and the Screed Against Kickstarter. Thanks to the greedy execs trying to cash in on NFTs and blockchain hype, people are starting to wake up to the fact that putting all our eggs in the Kickstarter basket is not a good solution and we're seeing the diversification of crowdfunding solutions.
  • Moved the Fiction First section to an appendix. Trying to make the book a little more legible and accessible so you don't have to wade through a bunch of stuff to find the mechanics rules while still having this information available if you want it.
  • Formatted the sections of text so that at the beginning of a new section there's a section break which means new sections start on a new page and that hopefully makes it easier to find different sections when scrolling through the book.
  • Numerous little edits, revisions, and things that were small enough that I didn't keep track of them as I made them.

Additionally, I've changed my mind about people who support the game early: if and when the game is fully Itchfunded, you'll get the full version upon release. Previously I had said that anyone who purchases the Itchfunding Edition would get half off, but I think that if you catch the vision of this game and you back while it's still in its early stages of development then I think you deserve to have the whole kit and caboodle.

Also, as a really cool thing to check out: there's now an actual-play video you can watch! The Roll +Bond 3rd Anniversary Charity Stream had a group of people who played Medusa's Marauders M.C. Watch the video by clicking here.

Lastly, if you're wondering how the numbering on the versions works, here goes:

The zero before the decimal is for complete editions that features all the bells and whistles. Version 1.00 will be the first version that has all the art, layout, editing, and all that good stuff.

The number immediately after the decimal is for major revisions to the structure of the game: new art, new Member Types, new Bikes, significant changes to the layout, rules additions, etc.

The second number after decimal is for minor changes to the structure of game: additions or changes to the appendices, clarifications to existing rules, grammar, syntax, and spelling fixes. In general, those grammar, syntax, and spelling fixes will happen in bulk and released with other changes.

There's also a cumulative numbering going on here wherein the number of changes adds up to  the next significant number. For example, the version after x.09 would be x.10 even if the changes were minor because the cumulative effect of all those changes amounts to a significant enough change.
